Sick Today

Posted under Family News

I didn’t feel well all day. It started last night. I started feeling really dizzy and light-headed with a touch of nausea. Anyway, I’m finally starting to feel better, which kind of irritates me as I haven’t gotten anything done all day.

At least the only thing we missed was swim lessons the morning. I didn’t start feeling bad until we were home from Des’ game, which is a good thing.

Des & Softball

Posted under Family News

Well Des won her game tonight. So further into the finals we go. Our next game is on Thursday. I really hope she goes all the way to the championship game, as that would be so exciting for her.

This was her first year playing, and I’m overjoyed to know that she loves playing! She is already planning on playing next season. She wants to be in the infield and maybe even a pitcher next season. She has been practicing her catching a lot lately, in preparation for next season.

Meg also wants to play next year, which is okay with me. She didn’t want to play this year, because she didn’t know it would be so much fun.

Working Chief

Posted under Family News

I haven’t had much time to work with Chief, but I have managed to squeeze in a session or two.

No matter what I do I still can’t get a halter on him. Stuborn pain in my rear that he is. I do everything just like Dad, and Chief just turns away from me. I have decided to go about it a different way, and see if that gets me anywhere. Chief is an odd boy. What works for Dad does not work for me, and vice versa. I have had to find my own way of doing things with Chief.

Anyway, hopefully I will have more time to spend with him when softball season is over.

Busy Life

Posted under Family News

Life is busy as always. Des is winding up softball for the season. Swim lessons will end the first of July. Soccer is coming up soon, and school isn’t that far off.

We’re having loads of fun for sure!!

We went to the pool again today. It was a lot of fun as always. Maybe we will go again this weekend, who knows.

Anyway, I think I’m heading off to bed.

My Birthday

Posted under Family News

Well today is my birthday, 31 years old I am. Sometimes I feel much younger, but most days I just feel old. *LOL*

I won’t be doing anything for my birthday, as usually. The kids will undoubtably tell me “happy birthday”, and Dad will too if he remembers. *LOL* I haven’t had a cake or a celebration in more years than I can remember. I don’t mind really. The girls’ birthdays are the ones that are important, not mine.

Fried Mommy

Posted under Family News

The whole family went to the pool on Friday. I was so careful to get sunscreen put on the girls, that I forgot to have them do my back, so I fried my back. It’s pretty red and sore, but at least it’s not blistering yet. Silly me, I’ll have to be more careful in the future.

We had loads of fun at the pool. The girls have been hanging around acouple of sisters, and their mom brought them to the pool too. So the girls had lots of fun playing with them, and I chatted with their mom for awhile.

I think Mandy and I are equally happy that the girls are friends. Des spent the night over there Friday, and then the girls spent the night over here last night. No major trouble…Des and Meg had bit of a problem, and then I had a little bit of whining and not listening from the youngest, but nothing too serious.

Bad Bad Me

Posted under Family News

Here I resolved to be a more consistant blogger, and it hasn’t happened yet.

Things have been pretty busy. We went up to Kansas City last week to get Des checked out at the eye doctor. Adam came down and stayed a few days.

Adam came down again this week, and we went to Topeka to do major shopping. My house is now well supplied with food.

Anyway, the crazy business continues. We are going swimming today, and then going to acouple of softball games to watch,. Starting Monday the girls start swim lessons.

Pushing

Posted under Family News

Here lately some of the things the girls have done are just driving me nuts.

I give an inch, they take, or at least want, a mile. I tell them they can go play for an hour, they whine and complain that it isn’t enough time. I say they need to stay home that day, and all I hear all day long is how unfair it is, even though it’s the first day in weeks that I’ve had them stay home all day. Grr…..

Meg has especially gotten bad about having a temper tantrum befitting of a two year old any time she does not get her own way. I have come up with acouple of different plans to neutrilize this problem. Things around home may not be happy for a few weeks until I get these problem behaviors ironed out, but things will go a lot smoother and happier after the rough patches.

Meg is not the only one pushing lately. Des has different ways of expressing herself, but she does express herself in ways that irritate the heck out of me. She has gotten into the bad habit of just ignoring me when I tell her to do something. Or if I am talking to her, she will just walk aways as if she didn’t hear me. This to will change, and soon!!

Nothing Much

Posted under Family News

I don’t really have anything to talk about. I’m just glad to have a moment to sit down and get some blogging done.

Things have been so busy here that I haven’t spent a lot of time on the computer. My blogs are showing their neglect for sure. Even my work is suffering because of lack of time and energy to get it done. That will have to change though, as my work and blogs are important to me.

Sis’s Birthday

Posted under Family News

One of my sisters is having a birthday today, or maybe it was yesterday. *LOL* I can never quite remember the exact date. Guess that proves I’m getting old.

From the time I turned 16 she was my best friend. We spent a lot of time walking around town, at the park, swimming, reading the same books. It was great, an experience I had never shared with anyone else. Not in the same way anyway.

She is still one of my very few best friends, although we don’t get to see each other very often. She was able to come down for Meg’s birthday, which was great. We hadn’t seen her in almost a year. She’s always so busy working.

Anyway, if plans go right, the girls will be spending a few days with her sometime in July. I hope things do work out, as the girls are really looking forward to it!
