Piggy Bank When Dad was preparing for retirement we started doing research on what he would be eligible for.
I’ve never been very good at wading through insurance type stuff, and medicare falls into that category. I always get confused about things like what makes the Medicare part D plan different from the other part plans.
In other health insurance news….I am still waiting, 6 months now, for them to approve the medical cards for the girls again. It’s ridiculous!!

Piggy Bank You know cheap auto insurance doesn’t always mean the best. Take my uncle for instance, he is always looking for the cheapest insurance he can find, but I can’t count how many times he’s had problems with those companies.
My insurance company is relative cheap, but it also has great service. I’ve never had any problems with them about anything.

Piggy Bank I received an email from a friend of mine the other day, and he mentioned that he’s currently dieting. Really though I think that the best mens fat burner is exercising. That applies to women as well.
With winter upon us I’m feeling rather blah, because I can’t get out and do any of my regular activities. Thankfully though, I haven’t gain my normal winter weight.

Piggy Bank I’ve been thinking about my childhood a lot lately. I guess because I’ve been teaching the girls some of the things I did as a kid.
Anyway, on that note, the most commen outdoor lighting fixtures that we had were flashlights. *LOL* It wasn’t very often that I remember us having a porch light, and even if we did, it didn’t do anything to light the yard, or the way to the sheds that we had our rabbits in.

Piggy Bank You know those self inking stamps sounds to be a better idea than the stamps with seperate ink pads that I remember. However they are more limiting than the seperate ink pads. How can you fingerprint your friends, or make potato stamps?
I know I’m full of weird ideas. But I did have a lot of fun as a kid too. *LOL* Have you ever used markers to draw lines on a paper towel, and then dipped the paper towel in a bowl of water just until the water reached the marker? It has a cool effect.

Family News I just noticed when I logged in, that I’ve never had anyone comment on this blog. Guess it’s a good thing that I write these for me, and not for the readers. *L* However, if you are a reader, won’t you please comment, at least so I know that the comment section is working.
In other news, I just performed surgery on a headless paper skeleton. He no longer has a neck, but at least he’s not headless anymore. *LOL*
The girls and I have all been sick. Des thankfully is over it for the most part. Meg is still pretty sick, but does seem to be recovering. I have just barely been sick, just enough to not want to do anything.
Well, I’m off to get some work done.

Piggy Bank I was looking at pendant lighting fixtures the other day. You know me, always looking at off the wall things. Forever dreaming of the house I want.
There were some that I really liked, but most seemed to have too much of a modern look to them for my tastes. I like the homey, comfortable stuff…Easy clean is always a plus too. I’ve never really been into the sleek, shiny type stuff. I guess I’m too much of a country girl for that.

Piggy Bank I don’t know what the market is now, but it used to be that gold investing was a very smart move.
I’ve really never done much research on investing. I’ve never had the interest in it, as it seems to be a numbers game, and numbers have never been my strong suit. Dad and my sister have always been the math whizzes in my family. I’m okay at simple stuff, but beyond that, I’m lost.

Piggy Bank Kind of an odd subject to be talking about in January, but I guess people are already looking forward to the next Black Friday, and Cyber Monday sales. Me, I’m not that big of a shopping fan to want to even brave the crowds on big sale days.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t like shopping, I just don’t like crowds of people, plus I’ve never had a lot of money to do much shopping.

Family News Well we had our first snowfall of the year. We had a few flurries in December but it never amounted to anything. Over the last couple of days I’d say we got about 4 inches, which isn’t a lot, but that’s okay with me. School has been closed for the last two days, which hasn’t hurt my feelings at all. I don’t like driving in bad weather, and rarely do.
The girls had a great time playing in the snow yesterday. Even Alex played outside with them. After they came in we watched a movie, and then they were off to the library for awhile. I had nice warm chili waiting for them when they got home.
So we had a nice, quiet, relaxing day yesterday, and I expect today to be much the same. Although they won’t be outside as much today, because Des developed a cough last night.
Well I have some work entries to do so I better get my fingers moving.
